Institute for Modern China Research of Henan University is a university-level key research institution in Henan University, focusing on the major ideological trends and schools of thought in modern China, thinkers and groups, and the study of discipline system and knowledge transformation in modern China. The institute has currently 8 professors, 7 associate professors, and 4 lecturers. Of these, all have doctorates, and the majority are honored as “Candidate of a Hundred & a Thousand & Ten Thousand of New Century National Talents Project”, “Henan Province Special Professor “, and “Yellow River Scholar”.

The institute has a complete undergraduate-master-doctor-postdoctoral education system. In the last ten years, the institute has trained 189 graduate students, and currently 39 doctoral and master candidates and 20 postdoctoral researchers study here. The institute also offers joint supervision of research degrees with the Institute of Modern History of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and many of our master’s students have been enrolled as doctoral candidates by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Nanjing University, Zhejiang University, or Shandong University.

In the last five years, our researchers have obtained 5 projects of the National Social Science Foundation, 4 provincial and ministerial projects, and 1 international cooperation project. In terms of publications, our research group have published more than 100 papers, of which 15 have been published in core journals such as History Studies, Review of Literature, and Studies of Modern History, as well as 15 monographs; we have obtained 4 awards at provincial and ministerial level, and the main scientific research indicators are in the forefront of the same discipline.
