Educational background:

Professor Miao Shumei received her doctor's degree from the Center for Song Dynasty Studies of Hebei University in 1991. She conducted her M.A. study at the Center for Song Dynasty Studies of Henan University and she received her bachelor's degree at the School of History and Culture of the same university.


Work experience:

She has worked in the School of History and Culture, Henan University since June 1988.

She became a associate professor in 1993 and was promoted as a professor in 1996. She has been a Ph. D supervisor since December, 2003.

Prof. Miao Shumei has served as the dean of the School of History and Culture, Henan University since 2008.

From December 2017, she has served concurrently as the chief editor of Journal of Historical Science.

Research interests:

Professor Miao Shumei's research interests focus on history of the Song dynasty, history of ancient Chinese political system and studies of historical literature.
