    The High-Level Forum on " The Charity Performances and Modern Chinese Society" and the Thesis Proposal Symposium on the Key Project  of  2017 National Social Sciences Foundation: " The Rare Documents  Reorganization and Research on the Modern China's  Charity Performances "  were held in Henan University on March 16-18, 2018,  which were jointly organized by the College of History and Culture of Henan University and the Institute of Modern China Studies.  The experts from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), Nanjing University, Central China Normal University, Suzhou University and other universities as well as research institutes were invited to attend the forum and the symposium.



    The forum was hosted by Yan Heping, a research fellow of the Institute of Modern Chinese History, CASS. The experts made a profound discussion on the topics related to academic frontiers. Prof. Guo Changying, the chief expert of the project, on behalf of the project members, gave her reports on the argumentations of the project, the contents of the research, and the previous preparations. She also explained the extant problems in the research of the project. The experts of the evaluation panel fully affirmed the value and significance of this key project, and put forward more pertinent opinions and suggestions for the smooth development of the project from many aspects such as theoretical achievements, research methods and data processing.


    This high-level forum brought together the top experts in China. The rich ideological achievements made the forum an important academic activity of the highest level in the field which undoubtedly gave the research team a great encouragement and support.
